Project Runway...

...starts tonight!  Yippee!  Now, I must admit that this season may be a bit of overkill.  They have 17 designers and every episode is 90 minutes long.  I might OD on this.  But, I can't help but be excited.  What, with the sad Top Chef season so far, and the Real Housewives getting nastier and nastier, I need a little reality tv love.  And how GREAT does Heidi Look?

Can't wait!

Sad trombone...

Do you think that life is HARD sprinkled with GOOD times, or GOOD sprinkled with HARD times?

My life has been kicking me in the proverbial nuts as of recently and I'm starting to get pissed!  Work has been discouraging and beating me down lately. I've been on this date-a-thon the past few weekends (more info on that to come) trying to meet up with 6 different guys in 2 weeks (a couple REALLY bad dates in the mix) and I am exhausted and quite frankly disheartened.  Financially, things are starting to feel tighter than usual (supplemental tax bill, anyone?).  And I CANNOT stop eating...weight gain is out of control!  All of this and I have a high school reunion coming up that I'm just not feeling...

Yet, with all life's efforts to break me, I'm still doing ok...not quite knocked down...which is a good thing.  Surprising, actually.

No inspiring goals or efforts necessarily to get me out of the hole...just an attitude that screams, "Whatever...this too shall pass..."

I do feel like kicking some ass though.  :)

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...

...aka, my yearly road to near bankruptcy...

I forced myself to stay up until midnight last Thursday in order to be the first in "line" on nordstrom.com for the Anniversary Sale.  Chomping at the bit to see what new Fall/Winter merch would be previewed and sold at reduced prices...

Honestly, not much.  But, still...I managed to spend a pretty penny...especially on the essentials:  bras, panties, spanx (a 30-something's best friend), winter tights...

Here's a sampling of the other goodies I bought:

PS - I was on a business trip in a hotel room when I made my Nordstrom online purchases way past my mid-week bedtime.  When I got home, I noticed I had lost my Amex card.  Calling the hotel, they said they had found my card and on it was a note from housekeeping: "this card was found in between the sheets of the bed".  Nice.  Thanks housekeeping, for your judgement...
