#ViewFromMyWindow - taxi cab, Holland Tunnel, New Jersey

After a really simple flight home from Amsterdam and a surprisingly quick trek through immigration, I got stuck in the typical NY traffic through the tunnel. Still, it didn't hold me back too long and I was home soon enough. Now to unpack and then REPACK to head off to Florida for vacation tomorrow morning!

#ViewFromMyWindow - Houseboat, 192 Amstel, Amsterdam

Spending a quick couple days in Amsterdam before heading home from this business trip. I LOVE this town. We AirBnB'd a houseboat and it's kind of the BEST...adorable, convenient, and something I've never done before.

#ViewFromMyWindow - Radisson Blu Hotel, Rm 702, London

With my #100HappyDays challenge over, I wanted to start something new. So, my new project will be #ViewFromMyWindow. Sometimes interesting, sometimes ordinary. Sometimes lovely, sometimes dreary.  All times for perspective.

Day 1 - I had to fly to London for a halfday meeting. I'm tired. The morning was rough. London sometimes mimics these feelings...a bit dreary. Here's my view from the hotel room...straight into an open office space. 

Day 100... #100HappyDays!!!!!!!

Wow...100 days...100 things that made me happy. 

When I started this a few months back, I wasn't in a great place emotionally. I was sad and confused and going through some unexpected heartache. I wasn't quite sure how...to be ok. 

And then a friend told me about this "100 Happy Days" project. It felt silly and I didn't see myself keeping up with it. But, it couldn't hurt, right? 

RIGHT!

Doing this was therapy. It put LIFE into perspective. It reminded me that there are TONS of things big and small to celebrate. And 100 days later, I AM. I AM HAPPY! Good days and bad days a-plenty...but I am HAPPY...and thankful, and stronger.

So here, I am, Day 100...Happy Susan!

Why Coke Zero > Coke. Coke has names like "Joe", "Ashley", "Jennifer" on their cans. Coke Zero has my REAL friends on their cans! :D  Love these!

I LOVE this 'live' wall at Maven restaurant in SF. BTW...Maven's food and cocktails are some of the BEST in the city. Love this place!

Day 82: Now THAT'S a steak. No really...that thing was HUGE!

Day 83: My mom sent me a care package! You gotta love a Korean mom's sense of 'care'. FOOD STUFFS! Wheeee!

Day 84: Oh god...this butterscotch pudding was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Thank you Lark Creek Grill.

Day 85: Thing about San Francisco...it's game on. Hard to see, but those are Google Glasses in the wild! An actual sighting!

Day 86: Yup. Shots. 'nuff said.

Day 87: Give us the Asian pose...peace signs! (with Steve and Mo...@EZ 5 in SF) I love getting to come home to SF to hang with old friends!

Days 75 - 81... #100HappyDays

Life has been BUSY lately. So, I'm going to do a couple posts to catch up on all my happy days. I've been taking daily shots...just haven't been able to post! 


Day 75:  I got a package with gifts from my kind friend, Jenni! Such a great surprise!

Day 76: With PRIDE showing all around NY, it was cool seeing one of my favorite lunch restaurants waving their flag of support!

Day 77: Look how pretty this stoop/front sidewalk is of this brownstone. Potted plants and a lovely birdhouse/garden. 

Day 78: Wall o' Wine. Yummm... (totally feeds my OCD need for symmetry as well...

Day 79: A good ol' fashioned ice cream truck! I love it! (sorry to be creepy old stranger lady taking a picture of the kid! yikes!)

Day 80: Nothing beats getting your digits did. Pedicure! (oh...and new sandals!)

Day 81: I had the BEST salad for lunch at Petite Abielle. I'm still dreaming about it! How pretty is that?

Finally unpacked from my UK holiday last weekend. I got these mouth-watering goodies (yes, that's raspberry gin!) given to me by my friend Joanna, straight from Edinburgh. My rocks glass w/ ice is waiting right now...

June is Gay Pride month in New York. It's great seeing rainbow banners flying all over the city. Since most of my early life was lived in a lot of judgement and bigotry, I feel especially proud that I've been able to find a way towards acceptance and equality and love. Love these postage stamps...

Day 72... #100HappyDays

I have been a HUGE San Antonio Spurs fan for almost 20 years. It started with a love for David Robinson, and grew stronger as the team solidified itself as one of the best ever (the trio of Duncan, Parker, Ginobli is unrivaled). I like their style...no nonsense, fundmentals...some people call it boring. I call it amazing. So this year, in what might possibly be Duncan's last chance for a championship, we're up 2-1 against the Heat...and I'm ecstatic. Pulled out my Spurs tank to wear while watching the game... #GOSPURSGO!!!

I'm not exactly happy about the extra pounds I'm carrying around, but I do love how my office stocks some of the best snack foods (healthy and definitely not-so-healthy) around!

I've been a bit obsessed with "House of Cards" lately. I'm already almost caught up! Such a SMART show. Also, always makes me crave ribs. I may have given in... #nomnom

It's been really cool discovering all the Banksy art around Bristol. I relate to this one quite often...just barely holding on. But, there's a bit of a comfort in knowing I'm not the only one!

Went for a walk around the 'hood and noticed 2 pet stores with puppies in the window. I didn't even realize this was still legal. Hope they're not puppy-milling these placed. Ugh...

But on a HAPPY note, look at this face!!!! Gosh did I want to take him home and 'rescue' him and love him with all my heart!

I just booked a train from Bristol to northern England to visit a friend next week while I'm "in town" (more like "in country", I guess). The thought of riding for hours, changing scenery...I'm BEYOND excited! I also upgraded to first class! Wheeee! ...and I get to see my friend, which warms my heart...

One of my coworkers' brother came in from Detroit to spin at a "Hip Hop Brunch" today in New York. It was a blast. The food, the drinks, the venue, the company...and the music were all awesome (90's hip hop!). Good good times...
