Look what I got...

My backyard is starting to bloom with soon-to-be deliciousness...

persimmons

apples

figs

lemons
(is there a difference between unripened lemons and ripe limes? Just wondering...they look the same...


So excited! Now, at least, when I'm dirt poor from paying my mortgage each month and have no money left over for groceries, I can still eat off the land and not go hungry!

Anyone know of any good recipes for this fruit?

Mmmmm! Figs: stuff them with goat cheese and wrap with prosciutto and bake.

Lemons: Preserve them in salt with cinnamon sticks for making Moroccan chicken with green olives in the winter.
