Arggghhh! I keep asking myself if there's SOMETHING else going on that we all don't know about because NONE of this makes sense...at ALL! Doesn't compromise mean you give some and I give some, you get some and I get some?
Why wouldn't we stop the tax breaks for the richest Americans? Heck, if I made that much, I would expect to pay more! And if we need a compromise, if the amount of $250k includes too many small business owners, how about we raise it to $500k?
Why should we extend the tax breaks if its going to add $407B to the deficit? And if we need a compromise, why not only extend it for one year and not two?
Why is it ok to add $407B to the deficit, but apparently the $56B that would be added to the deficit by extending unemployment benefits is something the Republicans cannot tolerate? And if we need a compromise, why don't we make it just a little bit harder for people to receive the unemployment payout (meaning, more proof that you're actually looking for employment, etc...) in order to make abuse of the benefit less prevalent?
Is it better to get nothing done or something done that you don't quite agree with?
I hate the power trip the Republicans are on.
How are we THIS broken? And how do we fix it?
Is either side right?
How do I get the tea party reps to shut up?
Holy shit...I'm now one of those "frustrated Americans".

I'm with you. This wasn't a compromise. The Republicans care about cutting spending only as long as it is cutting the categories THEY feel are wasteful.
Bitterly disappointed in our Democrats.
